The Photographers' Gallery & Lomography

This year we invited submissions for the Open-City 2012 photography competition asking entrants to continue our anniversary theme of ‘The changing face of London’, taking inspiration from the Open House London annual event and capturing images of people and places in the capital’s ever changing architecture and landscape.

We teamed up with The Architects’ Journal and The Photographers’ Gallery and winning photographs have been published in the AJ and will shortly be appearing on the Photographers’ Gallery and Open House London websites. Over 300 entries were judged by AJ Art Editor Brad Yendle, Photographers’ Gallery Director, Brett Rogers and architectural photographers Grant Smith and Dennis Gilbert who selected 4 winning images. The overall winner and first runner-up both received LA Sardina "Govnor" London Edition cameras courtesy of Lomography. See the winning images here.

Win a weekend stay at 5* Hempel Hotel

This year we teamed up with The Hempel Hotel - London’s premier design boutique hotel and a stunning 5* retreat - to offer the lucky winner a two night stay over the Open House weekend. The sleek architecture, subdued hues, and crisp lines are a study in Zen minimalism. The Hempel Hotel also gave Open House tours during the event. This competition has now closed. Congratulations to Catherine from Oxford who was "absolutely thrilled" to win the two night stay.
