The Victorian ÔvillageÕ was started in the 1870s and had expanded to over 70 ÔcottagesÕ on 60 acres by BarnardoÕs death in 1905. The village today contains the only remaining childrenÕs church in the country with lower pews and childthemed stained glass windows, and an iconic spired clock. Grade II listed site also has a monument to Barnardo by Sir George Frampton. Ebenezer Gregg 1876-1895. New Head Office building currently under construction.
