Design Advocacy

Open House has developed relationships with decision-makers in the capital to nurture ideas and encourage responsible stewardship of London’s existing and future architecture. We work with property owners, architects, developers and local authorities, among many others, to advocate for good design. This includes policy and decision making related to art in public spaces.

Through site visits, events, masterclasses and workshops, these programmes seek to develop design awareness and bring together and communicate the voices of different stakeholders who contribute to the shaping of the city. We showcase exemplary designs and share best practice to inform and inspire those who are involved in the creation of new buildings, particularly those involved in commissioning or local planning.

Our work in design advocacy has resulted in the development of an acclaimed knowledge bank of information and resources.
