Making bookings
Entry to a few of the properties will require you to book in advance. This is by no means the majority and is in fact less than 10% of the total participating buildings and events.
Where this is through the building contact details are given. Bookings administered by Open House are indicated in the listings in the Guide and in the online search listings from early August each year. There will also be a full list of those buildings where bookings are made through Open House on this page.
Unfortunately, the current system has been heavily abused in 2011 and as a result we are undertaking a complete review of how the booking will work and which may require advance registration to ensure proper bookings and cancellations are made, and bookings attended.
When people don't show for places they have booked, this is most unfair both on the property owners and the other people who were unable to book, and can even effect repeat participation by properties.
